Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya lauded the inauguration of Murata Manufacturing’s new production building in Batangas province, calling it “a symbol for Japan and the Philippines’ shared commitment to building a future-ready, resilient, and inclusive economy.”
Endo attended the Oct. 22 event and inspected the First Philippine Industrial Park in Tanauan City, where the Philippines Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. is located.
In a statement, the Japanese Embassy, quoting Endo, cited how Japanese firms such as Murata, “remain vital contributors to the Philippine economy, generating jobs and bringing cutting-edge technology that uplift communities and industries alike.”
He congratulated Murata on the completion of the new production building, noting that the initiative supports the Philippines’ goal of strengthening its role in the global electronics supply chain.
“To enhance the Philippines’ role as a key player in the global electronics supply chain, Japan welcomes these initiatives that support the country’s vision for industrial growth and technological advancement,” Endo said.
Murata in Tanuan City is a subsidiary of the Japan-based Murata Manufacturing Co.., Ltd., which designs, manufacture, and sells ceramic-based passive electronic components and solutions, communication modules, and power supply modules. Construction of the building began in August 2023.
“The completion of the new building strengthens our global production capabilities as we respond to the medium to long-term increase in demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) driven by the expected future growth of the mobility market,” Murata said in a statement.
