The Philippine Embassy and the Advocates and Keepers Organization of Overseas Filipino Workers (AKO-OFW) are teaming up to boost tourism, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people ties with Türkiye.
The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by the Philippine Embassy in Ankara, the Consulate General in Istanbul, the Migrant Workers Office in Lebanon, and AKO-OFW on Oct. 26 during the Gawad Parangal 2025 at Istanbul’s Gültepe Cultural Center.
Organized by the AKO-OFW Istanbul Chapter, the event recognized the outstanding contributions of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Türkiye.
The agreement highlights the Philippines’ efforts to expand diplomatic and cultural engagement while empowering Filipino communities abroad and promoting Filipino talent, resilience, and hospitality.
Philippine Ambassador to Turkiye Henry Bensurto Jr. commended the dedication of OFWs and their role in strengthening the Philippines’ diplomatic, cultural, and economic relations with Türkiye.
He also presented a promotional video showcasing Philippine destinations under the “Tara na sa Pinas” campaign to encourage tourism and cultural appreciation.
