The Philippines continues to make waves on the global tourism stage, securing nine nominations at the 32nd annual World Travel Awards (WTA), one of the industry’s most prestigious honors. The recognition further cements the country’s reputation as a top international destination.
Building on its regional success in the Asia-level categories, the Philippines is nominated in three country categories, five destination-specific categories, and one institutional nod for the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco welcomed the recognition as both an honor and a collective call to action.
“These nominations reflect the strength of our people’s hospitality, creativity, and resilience, and the world’s continued confidence in the Philippines as a destination of beauty and hope,” Frasco said.
The Philippines is vying for a seventh win as World’s Leading Dive Destination 2025, aims to reclaim the title of World’s Leading Beach Destination 2025, previously held in 2022 and 2023, and is nominated as World’s Leading Island Destination 2025.
For destination-specific categories, Manila is in the running for World’s Leading City Destination 2025; Intramuros is a finalist for World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2025; Boracay is nominated for World’s Leading Luxury Island Destination 2025; Cebu for World’s Leading Wedding Destination 2025; and Clark Freeport Zone for World’s Leading Meeting & Conference Destination 2025.
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism is nominated as World’s Leading Tourist Board 2025.
16 private tourism establishments from the Philippines are also among the global nominees across various categories.
Voting for the final leg of the 32nd World Travel Awards is open until October 26, 2025, at www.worldtravelawards.com/vote.
