The award-winning Filipino choir Song Weavers Philippines brought a night of music and culture to Stockholm on November 4, performing at the city’s famous Konserthuset in a concert hosted by the Philippine Embassy in Sweden.
Under the baton of musical director Alfred Allan Samonte, the choir delighted the audience with a diverse repertoire, blending Filipino classics with international favorites. The program also included traditional Swedish songs and Swedish renditions of popular music.
The event welcomed more than 120 guests, among them members of the diplomatic corps, representatives from Swedish businesses, local choirs, and academics from Swedish universities.
Ragnar Skanåker, a four-time Olympic medalist and World Champion pistol shooter also graced the event.
Philippine Ambassador to Sweden Patrick Chuasoto thanked the Filipino Community Leader’s Association in Sweden for their cooperation and contributions to the success of the event, noting that the concert celebrated not only Filipino artistry but also the strengthening of bilateral and cultural ties between the two countries.
